How to choose the right Kayak Paddle length

Determining the right kayak paddle length depends on several factors including kayak width, height of your body and torso as well as the paddler’s stroke angle preference.

We will focus on the two most obvious parameters: kayak width and body height.

• Width of kayak
  Inflatable kayaks are naturally wider than hard-shell kayaks. At around 90 cm width, you will need a longer paddle for a start. We recommend choosing a paddle with at least 230 cm length.
  
  
• Body height
  Obviously, the taller you are, the longer your paddle needs to be, particularly if your torso height is long as well. Two people with the same height but different length in legs and torso may require different lengths of kayak paddles.
