Paddle Australia - 2025 Canoe Ocean Racing Championships

Paddle Australia is pleased to confirm that the 2025 PA Canoe Ocean Racing Championships will be hosted by the MAKAI Paddlers at the MAKAI Cup.

The MAKAI Cup is highly regarded as one of Australia’s premiere Canoe Ocean Racing events, and has held a spot on the calendar since it’s inception in 2012.

Raced in Ulladulla, on the South Coast of New South Wales, the 2025 PA Canoe Ocean Racing Championships will be held on Saturday 8 February 2025.

The 2025 PA Canoe Ocean Racing Championships will be the only selection event for the Australian Canoe Ocean Racing team to compete in the 2025 ICF Canoe Ocean Racing World Championships, to be held in Durban, South Africa.

Chair of the Canoe Ocean Racing Technical Committee James Tomkins OAM said he’s excited to launch the event with just a few weeks to go.

“We’re proud to partner with the MAKAI Paddlers to be able to host the 2025 Paddling Australia Canoe Ocean Racing Championships in February at the MAKAI CUP,” Tomkins said.

“Each year, more than 150 people make the trip to the New South Wales South Coast for this iconic event in our sport.

“It is our hope that not only Australia’s best Canoe Ocean Racing paddlers will be there to vye for their positions on the Australian team, but also that this event becomes a true celebration of our diverse Ocean Racing community and participants at all levels will put their foot on the start line,” he said.

Paddle Australia will also host some pre-event activities on Friday 7 February, making a fun weekend for the whole family!
